Bearings for rotary motion are designed as rolling bearings or plain bearings. A distinction is drawn as to whether the forces occurring between the parts movable relative to each other are transmitted by rolling or sliding elements.
Tapered roller bearings
Tapered roller bearings comprise solid inner and outer rings with tapered raceways and tapered rollers with cages. The bearings are not self-retaining. As a result, the inner ring together with the rollers and cage can be fitted separately from the outer ring. Tapered roller bearings can support axial loads from one direction as well as high radial loads. They must normally be axially adjusted against a second bearing fitted in a mirror image arrangement.
We are offering our proven catalog series in X-life quality. The geometry, surfaces and materials were optimized. Thus FAG Tapered Roller Bearings X-life offer an increase in the basic dynamic load ratings (Cr) of up to 20 % compared to previous designs, an increase in the basic rating life of approximately 70 % under the same operating conditions und up to 75 % less friction. A convincing advantage of X-life are product characteristics that provide you with new design perspectives, for example, to design particularly low-noise or high load capacity systems solutions.
These bearings are mostly found in middle-sized and large-sized motors, electricity generators, internal combustion engines, gas turbines, machine tool spindles, deceleration devices, unloading and lifting machines and other industrial machines.
